Tim Koelzer

Tim brings broad and deep professional experience in helping companies establish and strategically extend brands through brand building, new product development and marketing strategy development. Tim worked in a variety of industries, including life sciences, technology services, the Internet, retail, food/packaged goods, apparel, financial services, telecommunications, insurance, and home services.

Tim served as an advisor to EquiBrand Consulting, beginning in 1998, and officially joined as President in 2000. Prior to EquiBrand, Tim was a Director in Prophet’s San Francisco office, where he collaborated with Dr. David Aaker, international branding expert. Prior to Prophet, Tim worked at The Cambridge Group and Kuczmarski & Associates, two mid-sized consulting firms focused on growth strategies, and also worked as a consultant in Andersen Consulting’s Strategic Services practice. Before consulting, he worked in the advertising industry, in both account management and in media planning.

Throughout his consulting career, Tim has had the opportunity to lead marketing strategy engagements across a variety of blue chip brands and businesses, including: Allstate, Boston Scientific, Chevron, Edwards, Farmers, Highmark, Honda, Hyundai, Incapital, Intel, IBM, KFC, Kraft, Mellon, People/Time, Inc., S.C. Johnson, Sears, Stryker, VF Corporation and The Walt Disney Company, among others.

Tim received a BA from Michigan State University and an MBA from the J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. Tim has guest lectured at both the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School and the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business. Tim has also conducted marketing training for the American Management Association and American Marketing Association, and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences.
